Holistic Wellness
Holistic wellness is an integrative approach to counselling drawing on a range of theories and techniques and considerate of all aspects of a person’s being e.g. mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social aspects. It is based on a person-centred approach which holds the belief that everyone carries within them the ability to make decisions and resolve issues in a way most relevant to their unique personal circumstances. The counselling relationship provides support and guidance for exploration and discovery, offering you an opportunity to explore your circumstances and your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, hopes and desires and discover your own resourcefulness for initiating change and healing. The primary focus is on the HERE AND NOW, that is, what you are experiencing in the present moment in relation to your current challenges.
We look to our mind to change our state of consciousness. We ask it how can I feel better? We try to fix our state of consciousness by thinking about our state as if it’s a problem to be solved by the mind. “What do I need to think or understand or do to feel better?” we ask ourselves. And we listen to the egoic mind’s advice, when it is the problem, not the solution. Looking to the egoic mind for the solution is looking in the wrong place. What we’re looking for can only be found by being present in the moment.
Can we choose to be joyful, free of fear and worry? Can we remain unaffected by circumstances? And what about letting go of deeply inflicted hurt, pain, grief and grudges ?
Would that not mean cheaply letting go off the hook someone who deserves to be punished? Can we choose our emotional balance/wellness ?
Let yourself be introduced to peace and calmness within self, away from all the temporary happiness and sadness which is either object, situation or people dependent.
Why search for reason to feel happy or laugh ?Let us come out of the vicious cycle of being sad, bad and mad and feel rejuvenated and always in a state of high.
